Posted on 2/21/2022 by Young Jun DDS MD FACS
Increased bruxism cases during Covid 19The Covid 19 has caused a wave of chaos globally, the condition which affects the respiratory system is brought about by infection from someone who is infected with the virus. Patients experience symptoms like a fever that attack them frequently. When you have a fever you will be shaking, clenching and grinding your teeth. The dental team is ensuring that you are safe during the pandemic and that you will have optimal oral health.

Teeth Grinding and fever

When you have a fever, the body is exposed to too much shaking and you will be clenching the teeth. Teeth grinding though occurs at night causes too much pain to the jaws. There is a need to protect the teeth from grinding against each other. The dental team recommends that you wear a mouthguard when you experience teeth grinding. A mouthguard acts towards ensuring that the teeth are not in direct contact with each other.

Prevention of teeth grinding

Stay safe from covid 19 by making sure that you sanitize the hands any time you are out in public and even when you are at home. Cleaning surfaces that could have been touched by someone else will keep the pandemic away. Ensure that you wear a mask so that if someone infected near you coughs you are safe from contracting the virus. Observe safety measures set by the Health Ministry or regulation. The Covid 19 virus will cause you to experience scenes of cold and this might bring about pneumonia. This causes teeth to grind and can make the jaw to be strained and in pain. If the clenching is at night, ensure that the dentist offers a mouthguard to prevent the teeth from being harmed. The dentist will also recommend whether you need a mouthguard or not for the teeth grinding condition.
