Young Jun, DDS, MD, FACS is an expert.
Dr. Young Jun is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He received his D.D.S. from Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry. Upon finishing his dental school, he completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery program at Loma Linda University Medical Center under the tutelage of world-renowned Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons.
During the residency, Dr. Jun also received his M.D. from Loma Linda University. After completing his residency, Dr. Jun was recruited to the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, where he was able to refine his surgical skills and trained many residents from University of California, Los Angeles, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery program as well as the residents from Harbor Medical Center, Los Angeles, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery program.

How are Teeth in a Day made?
If you know anything about manufacturing, you have probably heard the acronym CAD/CAM. In case you have not, it stands for computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing. You might not think that a manufacturing term would have anything to do with dentistry, but you would be wrong. In the past, you would need to receive a temporary tooth, and you would return to our office when the new implant was ready. This meant two trips to our office and two appointments. With CAD/CAM, we can give you the implant the same day.
Will I need temporary teeth?
In the days gone by, it used to be that a patient would receive a set of temporary teeth the day of extraction. Then the patient would need to return to our office weeks later, once the new implants were ready. This meant weeks of eating and talking with temporary teeth that were not comfortable, and that did not fit properly. With CAD/CAM, we can make the new implants the same day of your tooth extraction. This means that you will go home with your new implant. They will have been made specifically for your mouth so that they will fit properly. They will be comfortable, and they will look great.
