Surgical correction of maxillofacial skeletal deformitiesThe surgical process includes reconstructive procedures that correct the mandible's deformities, facial skeleton, maxilla, and soft tissues; these deformities can be noticed when the child is born or as the child grows, they become subsequent, and they are noticed. The timing of this procedure is critical and can happen when the child is developing or after development has taken place.

Treatments available for skeletal deformities


Orthodontic treatment for patients with cleidocranial dysostosis; this condition is very rare; it is associated with aplasia, the cranial fontanels delay, eruption of permanent teeth .this disorder is brought about by mutation of the gene. A surgical correction is the only thing that can rectify this condition.

Maxillofacial –dental anomalies this condition is also called dysostosis, which uses a removable appliance used in orthodontic which solves the problems that come due to deficiency of storage. To rectify this problem, a surgical process is highly recommended.

Cleidocranial dysplasia is a dental complication that may lead to failure of the erupting of the permanent dentition and supernumerary teeth, morphological condition of the mandible and the maxilla, which is possible in the ramus and coronoid as they ascend. Panoramic radiography can be used to confirm the cleidocranial deformity where the patient is later sent to the theatre, and the oral surgeon conducts surgery.

Cleidocranial dysostosis is the permanent dentition that can have deformities which the patient can suffer from the condition cleidocranial dysostosis; the therapy offered is based on the connection between the oral surgeon and the maxillofacial surgeons. A midfacial osteotomy is conducted for optimum results, and a second surgery is done to accomplish the best results. During the surgery, orthodontic bands and brackets can be attached; the step that follows is aligning the teeth correcting the position of the jaw .midfacial hypoplasia and the jaw being abnormal can also occur.
